REPKIT Privacy Policy
Effective 26 October 2026 (previous version: 5 October 2026)
REPKIT is an interval timer and rep counter for Android, made by David Mitenko, an individual developer. It is free, with banner ads, and REPKIT Pro is a one-time purchase that removes them. This policy explains what data the app handles and what leaves your phone.
Your workout data stays on your phone
Your entries, reps, totals, streaks, holds, timer settings, check-in history and workout sessions are stored only on your device. REPKIT has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own, and the developer cannot see this data.
If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include REPKIT's data in your device backup. That backup is handled by Google under your account's settings, and the developer has no access to it.
Crash reports and usage statistics
To find and fix bugs, REPKIT uses two Google services, Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase. While the setting Share crash reports and usage is on, they send the following:
- Crash reports: the error and where in the app it happened, the device model, the Android version, the app version, a random installation ID, and short technical notes about what the app was doing (for example, that it repaired an invalid setting).
- Usage statistics: standard events such as the app being opened, the length of a session and the screens viewed. They come with a random app instance ID, the device model, the Android version, the language and an approximate country, which Google works out from the connection.
Never sent: your workout data, entry names or check-in history. REPKIT records no custom events about your workouts.
This data is processed by Google on the developer's behalf; see Firebase privacy and security. Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Usage data is kept for Google Analytics' standard period, no more than 14 months.
Ads in the free version
The free version shows a banner at the bottom of two screens: the workout list and a workout's info screen. There are never ads on the timer while you work out. The banners come from Google AdMob.
To show and measure ads, the AdMob software in the app sends Google:
- your device's advertising ID;
- an approximate location, worked out from your IP address;
- device information: model, Android version, language and app version;
- ad interactions: which ads were shown and tapped;
- diagnostics about ad loading.
Google may use this to personalise ads and to measure and prevent fraud; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Your workout data, entry names and history are never sent to AdMob.
Consent. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, REPKIT asks for your consent with Google's consent form before any ads load. You can change your answer at any time in ⚙ Settings › Ad privacy choices.
Limiting ads tracking. In Android settings › Privacy › Ads, you can reset or delete your advertising ID. Ads will then not be personalised.
REPKIT Pro. With Pro, REPKIT doesn't start the ads software at all, so none of the ad data above is sent.
Purchases
REPKIT Pro is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment, and the developer never sees your card or payment details. The developer receives Google Play's order record: the order number, the product, the date, the price and your country. The app asks Google Play whether you own Pro, and remembers the answer on your phone so Pro works offline. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choice
Crash reports and usage statistics are on by default. To turn them off, open REPKIT, tap ⚙ Settings on the main screen, and switch off Share crash reports and usage. Both services stop at once, and any crash reports that haven't been sent yet are deleted. This switch doesn't affect ads; for those, see the ads section above.
What REPKIT doesn't do
- It does not sell your data.
- It never sends your workout data to anyone: not to the developer, not to advertisers.
- It does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.
The permissions it does use (vibration, notifications, wake lock and a foreground service) keep the timer running and cueing you while the screen is off. The ads software also uses the advertising ID permission.
Deleting your data
To delete everything, clear REPKIT's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Inside the app, Reset progress can also clear an entry's history. Data already sent to Firebase can't be linked to you, because it carries only random IDs; it is removed after the retention periods above. For ads data, reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Your Pro purchase stays with your Google account, and Restore purchase brings it back on a new phone.
Children
REPKIT is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. A change in what is collected will also be noted in the app's release notes.
